Talking ES 300 Stable at high speeds!!!

Make long story short, I had to catch up to 4 bikes going 220 km/h with 3 other passengers with me on the 401, heading west from Toronto!!
I eventually caught up but those things are fast!! I obviously knew there is no match here, bike vs car, come on now
But yeah, even my buddies said that they couldn't believe I was going that fast cuz the car was sooo stable and smooth at that speed...
Luckily for me that there was practically no traffic in that lil short run..

What's up with all these crazy Canadian ES300 drivers? Slow down dammit! Seriously though, stay safe out there....

Oh, and the ES300 is NOT very stable at high speeds imho. Wayyy too floaty and loose with the stock suspension setup. Wanna see an example of high-speed stability? Go drive a BMW, Audi, or Benz. In comparison, a stock ES300 will feel like a boat above 100 miles per hour.

Nabeel, I totally agree with you on that if you were alone in the car!!
But if u got an extra 500 lb with ya, then I think it makes a lil difference....it was a lil straight away too
I've gone REALLY fast in E 320, faster than I have in the ES and boy does it ever feel safe and comfortable...

i m not against you or anythings...
all i can said... it's un-safe / float like when a ES is doing high speed driving, the way the supension system design are just cant handle it.
one last word to say is, "when es is on high speed, i feel "UNPREDICTable", UNstable"

i agree with the unstable part. the es is smooth at high speed; fly at 120 and it's like you're on a magic carpet. try taking a curve with our suspension, results are gonna be body roll like you've never imagine.

This is really not something to be proud of or brag about. All you need to do is have your OEM tires to have problem at those speeds and you can kiss your ES and your life goodbye.

I've heard people say that at high speeds the ES feels unstable...
I agree with that part if you are ALONE in the car!! but if you have 3 other people with you 500+ lbs and its on a straight away, it felt ok!! It did feel unstable a bit when i was alone in it in another time travelling WAY slower....

Yep but your OEM tires weren't designed to carry that much weight going those high speeds. BUT...think about it...heavier load...more weight...more stress on the tires = more heat generated on the rubber. That's a deadly combo for you and your passengers if your tires were to experience any kind of failure. Make an example out there...don't be one. Drive safe.

Sure its stable if your going in straight line, try changing lanes in a es@ that speed. I honestly dont trust my car over 85. I hate the suspensions on the ES's .

Even with my B&G, Tokico suspension and 225/40/ZR18 tires, the ES doesn't feel comfortable too far over 100 IMO. I got up to about 115-120 and had to let off, I wouldn't have wanted to do any manuevering at that speed, and really wouldn't go that fast on stock suspension and tires.

...going 140mph with three people in the car. isn't that three counts of attempted vehicular manslaughter and one count of public endangerment??

Cool

Stay in a straight line. Mine feels fine past 100, but the floaty is pronounced by 120 in a line, but interstate bumps can get "scary/intresting" once you pass 125 depending on your suspension/tire choice and your comfort level. Stay on light traffic on good interstates with long straights and you're fine. Definately as Kyle said don't do anything at that speed. You'd break the tires loose faster than you'd ever realise.

I'm uncomfortable manuvering interstate grade curves over 100/105 and interstate (in city) curves with NO TRAFFIC at 80-85 (sorry... I'm a puss in my ES when it comes to curves, I know it won't break, but it feels like it compaired to the last 2 sub-compacts)

For god's sake just give yourself 10 seconds of straight line breaking and stop traveling in packs... Keep the tire's tread/psi and rated speed in mind also...
