I can't find a way to tilt the steering wheel on my 1990 ES 250. Is it possible that Lexus built it this way?

ES250 does not have tilt steering, possibly because it has an airbag and Lexus didn't have time to make a tilt column to accommodate. It may be possible to combine the columns from an ES and Camry but probably not worth the effort.

Thanks, it's not that important to me to have a tilt wheel that I'd go to all that trouble. Other than that and having a cassette player, it's a great car. I've also been told that it's a non-interference engine unlike our '02 ES 300. Know anything about that?

2VZ-FE is a non-interference engine. This engine shares the failure prone head gasket issue of the 3VZ-FE so make sure the coolant is fresh and use Toyota RED or equivalent.
