Replacing Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor on 2002 ES300
Hi all, I had code P1135 and I am also getting 18mpg, so I bought the Denso 234-9047 and I'm going to attempt to change it myself.
I haven't been able to find a youtube video of anyone changing this on the same model car I have.
From what I understand I need to find and replace sensor 1 on bank 1, but I don't know how to find it, how to identify which one is sensor 1 on bank 1, and I read that I might need an o2 sensor tool for removing the sensor, but I can rent one from autozone?
Does anyone have a video or image of how to do this job?

should be more or less the same for this one:
I highly suggest getting the O2 sensor wrench or renting one, they can be on there really tight and with all the corrosion and heat gonna feel like it's welded on.
use penetrating fluid like "liquid wrench" I've used Balistol (if you're a firearm guy) worked great for me. Let it soak in before you crank on it.
use some anti-seize on the threads before you re-install.
I recently replaced the rear O2 sensor on my dad's 01 honda odyssey and used a NGK(NTK) sensor already came with Anti-seize on it.
I highly suggest getting the O2 sensor wrench or renting one, they can be on there really tight and with all the corrosion and heat gonna feel like it's welded on.

This code indicates a failed heater circuit on Bank 1 Sensor 1 located between the engine and the firewall. Not easy to get to. Disconnecting the electrical connector will be your biggest challenge. You may want to practice on the Bank 2 sensor easily accessed in the front. No need to be in a big hurry on this because the heater circuit is to reduce emissions for the very short period of time it takes the sensor to warm-up. It does not affect engine performance or mileage. Make sure you do not get any anti-seize on the sensor, just a little on the threads.
