2002 Lexus ES300 dashboard circular sensor cap

My Es 300 circular sensor cap mounted on top of the dashboard is missing. The sensor is visible from the windshield looking from outside. I am not sure of the functionality of this device. Much appreciated if somebody can provide the part number. Thank you.

Looks like Lexus does not sell the cover separate only the entire light sensor. Will need to find one at a salvage yard or Ebay, or if you want new Google 89121-50020

Isn't that the auto headlight sensor?

That is correct, automatic light control sensor as noted in the owner's manual.

Has it ever been there? No idea where it went?

I have a problem with mine Lexus es300 2002 Automatic Light Control Sensor wire harness connection, the sensor unplugged by-itself and the wire harness went inside. I don't have a idea how to get the wire since is almost no access to catch. I believe that maybe can I unplugged on the bottom or maybe use something to catch the wire that went down. A real pain in the a... to work in a Lexus. If somebody can tell me what to do I really appreciate. Thanks

Hello,

Maybe one of those combined with a borescope camera would help you out. In any case, Toyota always makes sure there is some kind of clip to prevent the wire from going way too deep into the abyss, so it shouldn't be that bad..

Hope this helps and best of luck!
