Weeelll this one has me stumped. I have a 1993 ES300 with 60k mi. I just started getting a severe hesitation and, at times, rough idle. I don't have a check engine light on at all. I first started getting some lag as i was driving along one day when fuel was at a 1/4 tank. I filled it and it didn't help. Left the station and noticed the trans started shifting hard in 1-2. Thought, "****, trans is going". Dropped the pan, it was pretty nasty in there. changed the filter, filled with Drexron 3 fluid and it still slams. The strange part to me, once it warms up almost all of this goes away (trans shifting issue too) and no CEL???

Within the last 5,000 miles i changed the fuel filer, plugs (iridium platinum and high quality wires), cap, rotor, plugs, intake gasket (only the front because i didn't want to remove the intake gasket).

While trying to fix this issue, i have checked for vacuum leaks (found none), changed the vacuum switch (i cracked when I tried to pull the hose off), cleaned the IAC, replaced the EGR diverter diaphragm (the old one seems to be broken when i test vacuum and compare to the new one).

Any thoughts where to go from here?

A '93 with 60k!!! Geez! Sorry I couldn't answer your original question, I was so gobsmacked by the year and mileage!!
