Default What are EGR "tube" gaskets/gasket?

Preparing to do plugs and valve cover gaskets. Reviewing Speedkar9's excellent DIY:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...placement.html

Listed as needed are:

- EGR valve and tube gaskets

I have an EGR gasket I find, but don't understand the "tube" aspect. I've worked on EGR valves before but don't recall anything special beyond the base gasket. What am I looking for here or am I misunderstanding something?

If you are talking about your '02 ES I don't think it has EGR just a plate which you don't need to mess with.

His demonstrator in the DIY was a 99 Solara IIRC, so there may be differences.

There is an EGR gasket listed in the parts catalog; it was like a $1.20 so I can add it JIC.

Thanks for the reply; I'll not worry about it then.

the gasket is reusable if anything, mine was a metal one on my 95, not sure about my 2001 since I haven't taken apart the intake yet

the gaskets should be metal, Haven't removed them on my 2000, but our 99 Camry 1MZ and 98 Camry 1MZ had metal gaskets.

There are 3 gaskets, one from the EGR connecting to the Intake manifold, another from the EGR to the EGR pipe, and the last one from the EGR pipe to the exhaust manifold.

They are 3 identical metal gaskets, but again this is info is from a 99 Camry V6.
