unknown switch on dash

i'll upload the picture later today, but i have this small switch on my dash, right above the odometer and reset buttons, it is definitely something that was added on, but switching it on and off does not seem to affect anything whatsoever...i'm clueless any ideas? does anyone else have this?

like i said i'll get the picture up tonight, so it might be simpler to tell from that.

most aftermarket switches are for an aftermarket alarm or forgs
but i am sure you knew that plus you already have a set of fogs
does the car have an extra alarm it may be a visual valet switch
usually only clifford uses a plain view valet as one side is locked and the other is a rocker meaning
if you push it up it goes back to rest poistion
but if you do it down the switch stays there until moved back manually

thanks for the info here as well sk!

yeah i knew about the aftermarket alarms and fogs, but neither is present in my car. There's no other indication that anything has been done to the car, except for this switch. it's definitely aftermarket something, cause the owner manual says nothing about it.

any ideas on how to maybe trace the wire or something, or just figure out what it does? i'll switch it on and off and check the exterior of the car for anything, since there's nothing happening inside...the valet thing sounds quite plausible, but how would i test that? what does a valet switch do anyway?

valet switch is to turn an alram off until reset like when going to a car wash or mechanic
pull the beael trim out from around the cluster 2 screws at the top of it
behind the little plastic tabs
and trace the wire down and follow where it is going
my cousin bought an es and his has a remote starter but no remmotes so he can't use it

lots of cars get left over stuff owners are too lazy to remove
plus if it leaves a hole
so then removing it leaves a nice ugly hole

this might sound stupid, but:
are you sure that's really a switch and not something that's supposed to light up like a fake "alarm" flasher?
ok...sorry i realize you probably know the answer to that.
I'm hecka curious now.

Turbo Boost like in KIT

I'm guessing it is a PSEB. . . . . . . . . . . .passenger seat ejection button.

It could be a kill swtich or something linked to the exterior in terms of lighting.
