I have a 2001 Lexus es300 which is in need of a new transmission, I checked around and there are two transmission types for that car, the repair shop told me the one I have has 5 gears, yet I have not seen any that say that, it's an automatic and it's a coach edition if that matters. Is there a vin search Icahn do to find this out? I'm out of town so don't have eyes on the transmission, but really wanted it fixed before I returned.

 

Your transmission model is on the info sticker either on the driver's door (or door jamb). The serial number, manufacturing date, etc. is also noted there.
