The light bulb for the shifter burned out so I was replacing it when I saw this plug just there. Does it plug into anything? I saw a white connector but the size/shape didn't fit. Any ideas?

Pissed if that's the case...I just re did my seats not to long go and I could have easily added that feature.

I am the recent (less than 3 months) proud owner of a gently used 2003 ES300 which is equipped with the optional rear sunshade. The switch for that important option is located just to the left and slightly rearward of the shift lever. This could be the purpose of your unspoken for connector. My car also has seat warmers (another option essential to Florida living) which have their switches just above the climate control display.
