06 ES330 Newbie with Qs
Greetings everyone,
I recently purchased an 06 Lexus ES330 with navi. I probably won't be using the navigation since I have an iPhone now, but how can I update the maps for this vehicle? Where and how much do you guys think it's going to cost me?
Also, how can I make the beeping sound louder when I lock/unlock the car? My last one was definitely louder than the one I have now.
And...how come my headlights don't have the 30 second delay at night? I have HIDs...is that why? And when those HID lights go out how much is it to replace? Do I have to fix just that one or both?
Thank you

The volume of the beeper can be adjusted with the little rotary **** underneath the dash below the traction control button.
The 30 second headlight delay probably needs to be programmed in using Techstream.

You know there's a book that can answer all these questions, right? Owner's Manual. Should be one in the glove box. If not, register on drivers.lexus.com, they will send you one for free.

Navigation updates from Lexus aren't cheap. The list price for a new DVD navigation map (Generation 4 part #PT219-GEN04-14) is $169. I got an email from my local Lexus dealer in December about a sale on updates for $99 until the 31st. Maybe they'll have another sale this year.

As far as the GPS map update, there are a few vendors on ebay that sell them for around $25. I would search around and you'll find one. You'll see the reviews will usually state what year, make, and model... and whether it worked or not.
That's the route I'll go if/when I update my maps. I use my phone for navigation when I need to. I'm old school though - I usually look it up before I leave the house so I know where I'm going without navigation.
