Default windows fogging

Hi All, I inherited a 94 ES300 earlier this year with 220,000km (136,000miles) on it. It was pretty well maintained, but as with any 20 year old car it's got a couple problems, like the typical burnt out dash lights and needles. the car runs and drives great.

the main issue I have is that in any weather, the windows fog up unless I have the front deff on with the AC on. on any other setting with or without ac it fogs up. It is far worse on the passenger side of the car, but it does not have dual climate.

I thought it might be a leak in the heater core, but there is no smell and it passed a pressure test after I recently replaced a leaking radiator. Any thoughts on what else it might be?

Not offering any insight into the repair, but other members with the same issue have used Anti fog window cleaner on the inside of the windows and they say it works great. Didn't have this issue with my car but you could give it a try.

I am using the anti fog cleaner now, but it's only a very temporary band-aide. Gotta use it every couple days.

Earlier this year my 94 ES had a similar issue. In my case water had leaked into the trunk and was several inches deep in the jack storage well below the power antenna. Check your trunk at the bottom of the jack compartment, under the plastic cargo tray on the drivers side and under the spare. My leak was due to the antenna nut not being tight enough allowing water to wick in through the hole. It felt tight, but after tightening it more, the leak stopped. Good luck.

No water in the trunk, but I'm thinking it's either the temp control (appears totally dry) or the heater core. My coolant level is going down slowly and I'm not getting a lot of heat from the vents.

I had that same problem with my 98ES after i'd had it after after it was in service for only about a year. In my case the dealer svc dept. told me it was due to a wet cabin filter. The dealer said it was fixed and advised me to always keep the air set to AUTO to ensure air is always passing thru the filter, and not allowing it to hold moisture.

It was months later that I found that he had actually removed the filter altogether during that visit. I installed a filter back in about a year later, but always kept the a/c AUTO switch ON ever since then, and have never again gotten the moisture on windows problem. Go figure ...

I don't think there was a cabin filter in 94, but my system is never turned off, so moisture wouldn't be a problem from lack of air flow.

Auto is the automatic climate control.
