LS1 Engine Swap

I'm looking to do a LS1 engine swap in my 1994 Lexus Es300 & i would like to know if any of you have any knowledge about the whole ordeal. Thanks!

Is this real life?

Plenty of discussions (and success) of doing this in RWD Lexus platforms such as the GS and SC, don't recall seeing one with the ES.

Complexity level: 10 (maybe 11 out of 10)

Oh man I've been dreaming to see something like this :D

For a lot less money, I would just go buy a 98+ LS400 and tweak the 1UZ-FE a little for more power than the LS1 when it's done right. Remember Toyota always understates the horsepower and torque ratings on there engines. I dream of putting the 1UZ-FE into a 1977 RA28 Celica! Now that would be a fast little hot rod!

This is just my opinion and lots of mechanics would agree that from 1989 on, G.M. has been and always will be compiled of the cheapest parts built by the lowest bidder.

Are you trying to go for a sleeper look? LOL

subscribed. only to see if this is for real. Definitely would be unique

why bother ?

in the sense of all things being engineering possibilities it can be done, but it would take some serious machining for the drive train,

would have to move chassis rails, modify subframe(s).

It's not worth it. the value created is less than the costs.

Ls4 possible?...

Been looking into doing a motor swap in my 1994 Lexus Es300 & I think a LS4 may be my number one contender. Remarks on this ?

Mythotical Aug 3, 2014 11:01 PM

Anything is possible, but why bastardize a perfectly good Lexus with a piece of **** G.M. engine. If you want a strong and easy to modify V8 go get an LS400. I can keep up with an LS1 Pontiac Firebird with my stockified 98 ES300. And when I'm done with the stuff I want to do to my 1MZ I will burn that G.M. pile of **** down!

Take this any way you want but here is my opinion.

ES300NZ Aug 3, 2014 11:52 PM

I know the 1uz-fe engine very well an LS engine is not better or worse than a 1uz-fe, just different. Both are good, for different reasons.

An LS engine or a 1UZ-FE would not fit in a es300 not east/west, it can be done north south but why would you bother ?

It would be smarter to twin turbo the 1mz.

Here is a build that would eat an LS4 and crap a 5.7 Hemi! And cost a hell of a lot less.
