Help! Need proper part # for 2000 ES 300 radiator cap

1 Attachment(s)
Can someone please provide me with the proper part # for a radiator cap on a 2000 ES 300. When I searched on-line, I found part #16401-62090. The Lexus dealership in my city was closed today and I wanted to save some money, so I went to the Toyota dealer. The parts rep said this part # is for a 2000 V6 Camry, but it should work. Well, no dice. Took it home and it definitely doesn't fit. To make matters worse, the current cap I have on their is some crummy aftermarket one, so I have nothing to compare to. Anyone know what the proper Toyota/Lexus part # is and where I can order one? Thanks in advance!

This is odd, because that is the same part # I tried from the Toyota dealership and it did not appear to fit... I'm going to have to give it a try again I guess. Thanks for the link to that website. 40% off is awesome!

It might be that Toyota and Lexus reuse the same number for two slightly different caps. That is why it's important to order Lexus parts from a Lexus supplier. I've had times when Toyota dealers refused to look up a part number for me, when they heard that it was for a Lexus, for this particular reason.

Good luck and let us know if a Lexus part will be a better fit.

Thanks Mr. B., You were right, the Lexus radiator cap of the EXACT same part # as the previous one I purchased from Toyota fit like a glove. Both the Toyota parts rep and the Lexus parts rep had no idea why they were not interchangeable. They were even in the exact same Toyota bag. On a side note, that Sewell link you sent me wanted to charge $12 for the cap plus $12 to ship it. I ended up just purchasing it for $23 at the local Lexus dealership. Nevertheless, thanks for the link, maybe their shipping prices are better with larger items or bigger quantities.
