Question Poping noise

When i put my car into reverse holding the brakes to keep the car from moving i hear a mellow poping/rumble noise. the noise last for 5 seconds then goes away. I also hear this noise when going up hills (intermittent) What could it be? I put a new tranny in the car. about 3 yrs ago it has about 30k miles on it. Any answers will be appreciated.

Thanks

it seems to me like the tranny...not that there's anything particularly wrong with it though, just cuz of the noise, other than the fact that trannies on the verge of dying sound like that

My dad's Dodge Ram 1500 does this exact thing. It works but he knows the tranny is going to go. Chrysler/Dodge has known of this problem for years and it usually happens right about 40k. (Just after the warranty goes up at 36k)

Your tranny may need to be looked at.
Have your tranny looked at by a specialist...AMCO or something similar.
