How to "glue" bumper?
 

Hi all,

It was object on HWY that was hit at 65MPH
Pls. take a look at g+

I'd like to glue it back if possible to avoid whole bumper replacement that may cost up to $1k
What to use to glue? Epoxy or etc?

You can use Epoxy, but I recommend removing the bumper to get at it from the inside. You may need that mesh material to hold the piece in place.

Absolutely will have to reinforce the repaired area from behind with mesh or the glue won't last. Most auto parts stores sell bumper repair kits for this very purpose, but honestly the repair is going to look ugly. You can get pre-painted body parts for much less than $1000, here for example. That's just the 1st result that popped up.

You can glue, epoxy, but then if you know how to do it, (we did this at the body shop) you can melt the bumper back together.

Use the handyman secret weapon, duct-tape :D

It'll match your car's color too !

We did that when the same exact thing happened to our Sienna (ran over a truck tire on hwy)

So far I plan to buy at local AutoZone Bondo 806 (1 oz. epoxy flexible bumper repair compound)
I'll also look for some material to use as reinforcement from inside

anything against going with Bondo 806?

Besides the cost, no Bondo products are really good. You're going to need quite a lot of it though could get expensive.

will "J-B Weld Cold Weld Hardware" be better over Bondo?

You can use SEM 68422, it works great. I've used it several times to repair plastic.

You would need to grind (make a bevel where the crack is) and then lay plastic repair in the prepared area.
Use fibeglass mesh on the backside for reinforcement.

I plan to clean, grind and apply resin with fiberglass on inner side.
