Overfilled engine oil. How important is it?

I wouldn't use that as a guide for every automatic vehicle. For example, Lexus asks to have the engine running and the transmission in Park. Mitsubishi asks to have the engine running and the transmission in Neutral. Hondas are checked with the engine off.

If you're mechanically inclined at all, you'd do yourself a great service by doing the oil changes yourself. Its not for everyone but I enjoy doing it, and the piece of mind that comes with knowing what oil is going in and that the filter is ACTUALLY being changed out too. The earlier model ES's are much easier to work on than the RX's.

Jiffy Lube is to be avoided at all costs, IMHO...
