engine interchangeability?
Hello,
I am a noobie and a new owner of a 1993 es300. In case of needing parts, I know I can go with a 1992-1993 Camry also.
My question is:
Is the 3VZFE interchangeable with the 1MZFE as far as sensors and peripherals (TPS, MAP, Fuel regulator, Throttle Body, EGR valve, etc.)?
It would be nice to be able to use parts from 1995-1999 Avalons as well if needed.

This engine swap question has been asked here before, and the consensus is no, mainly due to the computer(s) and wiring harness, which would include most sensors. I suppose it could be done, but it's hard to imagine how it would be cost-effective even if you did everything yourself.
However, if you're looking at getting a part for your '93 from another year/model, just check out the stock/part numbers on any online site. I haven't found many myself.

The 3VZ and 1MZ engines and associated components/electronics are completely different. The 3VZ-FE is a ODB-I engine, 1MZ-FE ODB-II. The ignition systems are very different (3VZ has a distributor), block, heads, intake, plenum, exhaust manifolds etc. etc. are all different.
In North America the 3VZ-FE was only used for 1992-1993, in other markets longer.
