BTW-In my case, the police issued a citation for running through a red light. This allowed my to collect the deductable from the other carrier. Also, my carrier tried to screw me on the valuation, but, I "persuaded them" that they were being a bit criminal in the matter.

Pretty hard to choose between the two.... I have a 200 es300 non platinum edition with black interior and i LOVE mine. although rwd with a motor that can be heavily modified...... BUT as was said earlier the IS is less usable... I would have to agree... it's a smaller car.

Get the es, looks to be in better shape. I went from my es to a gs and while snow tires help, theres still a difference in snow driving. I take my es300 instead of the gs even though i had a set of brand new blizzaks. Although depending on how bad your winters are I'm sure that also plays a factor, I'm in Buffalo and it gets pretty bad. Also the is300 is nice, and has more modification potential, but realistically, do you think you are going to be the kind of person who will do a bunch of engine mods to a car, or just drive it? Both cars may also need a timing belt (unless you are lucky and they have been changed, but in my experience they usually haven't been). The es rides nicer, gets better gas mileage, and is more practical but the is300 is more fun to drive, faster, and in my opinion a better color combo

Yeah my dad is helping me out with this car. We checked out the IS300 and my mom totally loves it but the RWD just through them off because Michigan get alot of snow.

We are decided on the ES300 but if its sold we are going to buy a 2005 Honda Accord.
Honda Accord

I would rather roll in any of those Lexus than a Honda! lol if that Honda was a V6 Maybe!

I'm not sure about the 2005 but my sister had the same model but a 2003. She had the transmission issue and the radio back light issue. Same with her fiance he owns a 2003 Accord to and his transmission is slowly dying. Guess I will have to research the 2005 version.

Just hopefully the ES300 is still or sale! I love the color White and it looks so clean!

I'm sure you'll figure everything out. We are in te process of getting rid of our es300 and are pretty confident it will be replaced with a 4runner. While I have a lexus it will be weird having a non lexus product as a main car for the first time in 15 years

Those accords are not a bullet proof as those of old. The tranny is very suspect.

Keep in mind the IS is a gas guzzler compared to the ES, and in general.

My good friend had one while I still have my ES and he was whining about getting **** mileage to a tank of premium... Then again the US gets gas for dirt cheap, so it may be viable.

Yeah, The Accord is very suspicious, I just called for the White ES300 and they still have it for sale! going to go check it out!

2000 LEXUS ES300

Do you guys think its a good deal?

Yeah the IS300 is a gas guzzler my friend has a one and he complain that 60 bucks still isn't enough to fill his tank haha. I do like to mod cars but as of now I can't afford it. We do get cheap gas compare to you guys haha, I just went to toronto a few days ago for a week and wow talk about pricey.

All things considered pretty good deal. There may be cheaper ones but I rarer pay more for a mint one to begin with instead of a cheaper one is have to put money into.

Here's the scoop. So I drove 35 miles out there to see a broken down ES300. I swear they photoshopped those pictures! The ES is missing a oil filter cooler, the bottom front is hanging, the colors are fading from left to right. THEY HAND PAINTED the side mirrors! The leather was all cracked and ripped and the oil was leaking.

Next up we test drove the Accord, The break squeal and felt like it was grinding on something, also the car shakes a lot, and some interiors were broken.

I guess I still got to go car shopping

Any thought about a Nissan maxima? To be honest, 4th gen es300s/330s are going for about the same price as that accord, if you like the styling and can find one those aren't a bad bet.
