Before you guys flame me for not using search, I did but didn't find anything specific to my question.
My factory subwoofer has completely fallen apart. I am going to put in an aftermarket sub and an amp just for the sub woofer and will keep the factory amp for the regular speakers.

My question is can I take the output of the factory sub and use it as my audio in on the aftermarket amplifier for the sub? Some people are saying I will need to build filtering circuits and stuff using resistors and caps while others are saying I can just hook it up. Also would I find the radio turn on wire at the factory amp?
If someone knows links to a thread related to this, please let me know.
