kinda like all the new Lexus's have chome badging, was wondering if anyone attempted to try it. i think it would be a very nice touch to the interior (especially if u already have the woodgrain steering wheel)

After buying/trying multiple "L" emblems from centre caps, emblems, engine covers. I found the one from the 3ES engine cover fits perfectly. I have yet to put the 3M on it to make it stay but I'll get around to it eventually

I always wondered if you could install 4es steering wheel onto a 3es. The inserts wiring harness on both steering wheels look the same. The airbag would be questionalbe but it would look sweet.

i dont think gluing it on will look good at all. My car (2gs) has it OEM and it has specific grooves designed for the chrome logo to fit in

heres an example

I'd be worried about what would happen if the airbag went off. My 02' ES has it, but my 00' RX does not.

^ nothing at all, the top 'half' with the emblem flies up and is get cut just below it in an accident situation, like every lexus airbag i've ever seen.

No, I don't mean with the actual lexus emblem on the steering wheel from the factory.

I'm talking about when you glue the emblem onto a airbag that was not designed for it.

I've taken a few airbags to the face and let's just say itS a little more than a punch in the face. So I don't think an airbag will have any issues tearing through a plastic emblem.

Then again, are the engine cover emblems plastic or metal?

I'm wondering if you can fit an LS430 steering wheel emblem on a 3es. Their steering wheels are almost identical...

I think the issue is not the airbag exploding out of the wheel, it's the airbag propelling sharp pieces of chromed plastic into your face as it explodes.

^^ very good point. I guess if the accident doesn't kill ya, the emblem will haha.

How about eliminating tHe airbag all together? You'll have a pretty steering wheel emblem without the worries of a projectile impailing your face.. (Just kidding btw)

You could try using a gold or silver marker, I bet it'll look great if you take the time to clean it and do it right saw a guy on youtube do it.
