Default 2002~2003 ES300 pros, cons.....

Hello everyone,
I am planning to buy a 2002~2003 ES300 and am wondering if there were any types of problems with them, whether its transmission, electrical, etc. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks everyone!!!!

Thumbs up

The pick up is not that of an Acura TL typeS. But it is wicked smooth.

I have put 6k miles on mine since Sept. Absolutely no complaints.

There is a gripe about the 5 sp auto tranny. sometimes when you stomp on it it shifts up one too many gears. I find acceleration is better and it shifts properly if I don't stomp to the floor. You learn the tranny and the car learns you.

Overall: a very nice piece of work.

Default 2002 ES 300

I've had my 2002 ES 300 since it first came out in fall of 2001. Have put approx 20000 miles on and still love the car.

Only two problems have occurred and I have yet to completely figure out. One is a mold smell from the AC vents. Just had dealer spray something in the system that is supposed to take care if that, we'll see. Other problem is a creak in front strut. One strut was replaced last spring, now is making same noise. Not sure what the deal is with that yet.

Overall, I consider these issues temporary and relatively minor. Have loved the driving experience. Had a 1999 ES 300 before and like the improvements offered in this model.

Since this is the 2nd yr, most bugs ,if any, should have been worked out. I won't worry.
