Need help with obstinate GPS DVD
 

2002 ES300 DVD: Denso data 2001 Ver.1.

Some time ago my display started reading " Cannot read DVD disk" or something like that. I took the Disk out. (DVD player is in trunk). I noticed some smudges on it and cleaned it.

When I put it back in it still could not read it. Then I tried one of the "back doors" I read about in this forum: Top L-Bott L-Top L- Bott L- Bott R: This opened a menu for the different global regions and Japan was Hi-Lighted.
I scrolled down to US-N.America selected it and exited.

When I rebooted, first the Lexus logo appeared, then
"Please wait while system updates".
Next screen:" Caution"
"System unable to access the program"
"Incorrect Program disk"
"Please insert proper disk"
I tried to reboot several times. Also disconnect Battery cable to erase any volatile data but no luck. I can hear the DVD player working.
Any geeks out there that can help this senior citizen?:confused:


I know enough about this to be dangerous.
