Default HID Kit

Hello, I bought an HID plug and play kit for my 96 es300. It was from Xenith Xenon. I was told by a friend that they were pretty good and a solid product. I picked up a pair and immediately had problems with them, for one they shipped me the wrong bulbs. Second one of the bulbs went out after about 6-7 months. The kit offers a 1 year warranty on bulbs and ballast. I contacted their customer support multiple times and never heard back from them. Sorry for the rant but i was curious if anyone here knew of a good HID kit for the 96 es300. Thanks!

I'm biased but we have been selling HID kits since 2001 and have been a supporting vendor on this board since 2004 I believe... Do some searches on XenonDepot HID kits and i'm quite positive you will feel comfortable with your choice.

After doing a bit of research I decided I think I am going to be purchasing these...

A little pricey but I would rather have a solid product rather than some mass produced piece of garbage.

But I am still curious to hear what others are running in their cars and how they've held up.

Honestly most of the HID kits on ebay are a hit and miss. And i got a hit from the xentec kit there really cheap but i have been running them for 1 year and 7 months and there running strong no flickering everything is working great. So if you want to spend 200$ on a kit go ahead man more then likely there reliable.

If you are planning on using "auto headlights" you want to make sure you get a ballast that has a low start up draw. In auto mode, your vehicle's headlight harness can experience a slight power drop when the vehicle is starting. Your stock halogen bulbs will slightly dim for a moment (you probably won't notice it) but HID lights cannot dim. What you may experience is one light not turning on as a result. You will manually need to shut the lights off and turn them back on once the car has been turned on so that both lights turn on. The Xtreme HID kit uses true low draw ballasts meaning that they only draw 4.5A on a cold start meaning that you will not have any issues with using this kit with auto lights. Check out our current website pricing as the discounted pricing along with the "CL" coupon code will get you the best pricing we have ever offered on these kits!

I've been running 'cheapies' for years now. My last kit i paid 37$ to my door, for fogs, then my 4yo. low beams went out so i swapped the cheap ballasts over, couple years later and they're still fine.

I recently bought another one 'just because' i like having the spare ballasts.

Oh, and don't buy that kit from TRS... its not made for your car dude.

What do you mean it's not made for the car? They have the 9006 bulbs? Wouldn't that fit into the stock lights?

^ they sell those for AFTER performing a retrofit with a D2S base...
"D2S: OEM Phillips"
Not 9006...

This is it; http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3957

**I Assume 9006 is the lowbeam, i don't know the 2es nor care to actually check it for you to confirm...**

Are you referring to Philips bulbs that have been rebased with a 9006 base such as these:

http://www.kbcarstuff.com/9006-HB4-P...4k-rb-9006.htm

We also sell an Xtreme HID kit that comes included with genuine Philips rebased bulbs:
