My 93 ES300 was just painted - Pics
Hey Everyone,
Just got my car back from being painted a few weeks ago and wanted to post some pics.
This car still had major shine even after 20 years! The clearcoat was starting to breakdown and my kids put too many scratches on the sides, so it was time.
The first couple are sanding and being painted, the next two were taken at the shop and sent to me.
The last is after I had the care back for a week or so and was parked at my hotel. The paint just keeps getting deeper and glossier week after week as it cures.

Now she looks like she rolled off the showroom floor again! Just have to get new center caps for my wheels
Let me know what you think!
Thanks!

Didn't cost me a dime, my family owns a paint and body shop and it was done for free. If I was a paying customer, it would have been somewhere around $1500 - $1800. They wanted to do the caps as well but I travel too much and there wasn't enough time.

It does have it perks. They had it for 2 weeks to make sure everything was perfect, they fixed a couple of little dings I never even noticed! Luckily I had to fly out of state for a month, so it was done while I couldn't drive it anyways.
I was debating on selling it before, but now I am keeping it as my work car since I drive over 40k per year. Still drives like new and the interior still looks brand new. Now I am in love with it again!

Looks really nice!
They also restored the headlights, which makes the car look new. All it needs is a light window tint.
Did they respray the bumpers and side cladding as well?

wow, I got estimates on my 04 just to paint the hood and fix a dent on the hood, and fix a small dent on the fender, 1100. I worked with body work and know what a rip off people do. Love the color, car looks great.

I also just replaced the stock radio a few days ago. I got this JVC unit and it sounds much better. My stock was going out and the cassette player stopped working (I used it to play music from my phone). This unit plays my music and Pandora via bluetooth.

Thanks Mr. Booby! My headunit can have any color combination and there is a green that matches the factory almost perfectly. It can be changed in 30 seconds. I chose the blue/red combo to match my speedo backlighting and needles. I am still playing with what color or color combo I like the best.
I really like the features as well, mine is a multimedia player and has no CD player. I haven't even physically touched a CD in over 5 years, so it was no loss to me. Streaming everything via bluetooth is great and the USB port on the front of the radio solves the worst design flaw that Lexus made to the 2nd gen ES. I can now use the cupholders and charge my phone at the same time!

Did it myself, took about an hour. I ordered the radio from Crutchfield and the dash kit and wiring harness were included. Only thing I had to do was ground the radio to the chassis as I was getting interference from the engine (common problem with aftermarket installs)when the ground was wird to the ground wire from the factory wiring.
This unit is a JVC KD-X50BT. It is only a multimedia player(no cd) which is fine with me as I haven't touched a CD in years. The lighting of it can be changed as easily as changing the bass or treble. All my music and phone calls are via Bluetooth. Couldn't be happier!
