THANKS again for your replies back
when you get a new belt, the marks are on the new belt that line up with engine timing marks. If you are re-using an old belt where the marks are worn off, you are supposed to mark the belt before removal.

Double check your timing marks on the crankshaft. There are two marks on the crankshaft, one mark is for the oil pump and the other is for the back timing cover. I've nade the mistake of mixing up these marks and thank god the 97 is a non-interference.
