Hi;

I just picked up a 2005 ES330 with a black interior that is immaculate! I know those black seats are gonna be hot in the summer. I would like to install a roll up type of sunshade in the rear window. I have seen them on ebay that are oem and motorized for about 300 dollars. Has anyone installed them? Do you have to cut the deck lid? Is the wiring harness already in place that you just connect to? I would like to go the electric oem route, but it may be difficult since my vehicle didnt come with it. Anyone know of a shade that is roll up like the old window shades that I could just screw to the decklid and attach to the headliner?

Also, my vehicle came with the hid lights, but the lenses are really yellowed. Anyone know of a source for the headlight lenses that I could put my hid lights in? I know they can be cleaned up but it never seems to last as long as new lenses do and I would rather just replace the lenses if it can be done inexpensively.

I cannot offer any insight into the sunshade but I can for the headlights. The issue with stock oem HIDs is that the wiring harness is built into the headlamp itself. It isn't like HID kits where all the wiring is outside of the headlamp. I'm sure you can disassemble them and but I wouldn't mess with such high voltage wiring. You may have to purchase entirely new headlamps and just transfer over your bulbs or you can try and clean them. You'd be surprised how much you can clear them up. Also if you want your car to stay cool you can always tint it
