I apologize if this has been covered before, but I could find any similar topics.

I recently purchased a 2006 ES 330 with 83,000 miles from a Lexus dealership. When I bought the car, I also bought the 5 year 60,000 mile Gold Service agreement. The timing belt and water pump are on the list of covered components.

I called the service dept to inquire as to whether or not these will be covered at my 90,000 mile service. The adviser I spoke to said these items are only covered in the event of failure, not as preventative maintenance as required by Lexus at 90,000 miles.

Can anyone confirm this for me? If I can avoid paying $1000+ when I have to get these replaced it would be greatly appreciated.

The service adviser is correct. The extended warranty does not cover regular maintenance items such as the timing belt. If the water pump were to fail they would cover. The 90k miles Lexus service does not recommend water pump replacement(although I do), only the timing belt. Sorry, but the 90k service is on your dime.
