Default 1998 ES300 sound system specs??

Hi, I have a 1998 es300 and I'm trying to figure out what kind of speakers and how many watts RMS they are. I know there are 4 speakers, 2 tweeters, and a sub but I want to replace my speakers with more powerful ones, ones that have more RMS. I dont know exactly how many watts the speakers are right now though, so does anyone know?

You are confusing two different principles. The wattage of the speakers is how much power they can take from the amplifier, not how loud they get. If you intend to use the stock amps you'll need high efficiency speakers. I used Boston Acoustic SE series speakers which are designed for just that purpose. They produce a total of 92 db sound pressure level at 1 watt, very efficient.

The system has 2 6.5" full range drivers in both the front and back doors. In the wing panels are two tweeters with a capacitive crossover. Rear deck has an 8" subwoofer. Total power output is charitably stated as 215 watts. Subwoofer is 2 ohms, not sure about the others. Best guess is 50 watts rms to the subwoofer, and 20 watts rms to the speakers.

OTOH, if your goal is to make your car into one those resonating thump machines then you'll never do it with the stock amps. You will have to get aftermarket amps and, if you go that route, just replace the entire system and go all out... JL Audio sub, Alpine amps and head unit, JL Audio speakers front and rear...

I think the stock stereo wattage was never claimed to be RMS, so I am guessing it is more likely peak, rarely is a stock stereo rated RMS once the marketing people get involved...

The Pioneer is rated the about the same 200-something peak watts of the Nakamichi, though the Nak amp is way more beefy and more capable, it probably puts out quite a bit more RMS power. Both probably put out 50-100 watts RMS, I haven't even looked at the circuit/fuse in the FSM but the power wire wouldn't support more than that its like 12/14 ga...

Back on Topic OP you just want some good replacement speakers with high sensitivity, any speakers can handle the stock amplifier.
