Default Seat Question

Will the seats from a 1998 ES300 fit a 1996 ES300? My son's 1996 ES300 seats are badly torn. I have found a full set of seats in the right color from a 1998.

Thanks
Danny

Different chassis, different mount points. You might be able to make it work by swapping parts over, or modifying the seat tracks by welding them. Short answer, no.

Thanks, that's what I suspected.

It is possible that the seat bottom from the '98 will bolt up to the frame of the '96, but the only way to find out is try it out, or at least take some measurements. The seat mechanisms are all very similar in these cars, but similar is not good enough unfortunately.

An example is I wanted to put in seats from an Avalon into a Camry. They are almost the same, but the mount points don't line up. So I either have start drilling holes, or do some welding. Another option is to take the sliding rails and swap them out, might work but at least one bolt will have to be drilled out. Depends how far you are willing to go to make it work, me personally I would buy the seats and give it a try, if you can't get it to work then just sell the seats.

If you can't make them fit, the best way to deal with the problem is find a leather specialist and have them repair the seat.
