2005 ES330 Dual Exhaust
 

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. Thought I'd share this with you since I wasn't able to find another example of this. This is my dads 2005 ES330 that just got finished getting some dual exhaust. He bought a second rear bumper and had them transplant his exhaust cutout on to the new bumper on the drivers side. As many of you know, there is very limited room on the drivers side undercarriage due to the massive spare tire compartment. He had this heated up and reformed to make way for the additional exhaust pipe, then undercoated to protect against rust. I then talked him into doing 2 stock ES tips so they would follow the contour of the stock cutouts. Let me know what you think.

I like the custom job dont get me wrong, but Why go through all that trouble and leave stock mufflers? :uh::uh::confused:

It's my 65 year old dads car. He doesn't care what the muffler looks or sounds like. He just didn't like the single outlet sitting on one side. For a guy that hasn't modified a car since putting an FM radio in the glovebox of his 65 mustang I was very surprised and impressed he went through all that for duals.

I think it looks really good, and it was done the right way not slap the 2nd exhaust tip in there and not worry about the bumper. Got any pics of the underside? I'd like to see how it was routed etc, and also what was done to the spare tire well.

Not for me. On this body style, the single outlet exhaust was classy and sexy. Duals on it just look cheap/gawdy.

Congrats to your father for doing a very nice job- looks great. And yes, let's see a photo of the underside.

@imherenow: I do agree with you, but it was Waaaaay less work just keeping the stock distance to the side and adding it to the other side. I would have liked to seen a distance similar to the GS's, but way to much work. I will have to get my dads car up on a lift so i can snag some pictures of the underside for you guys.

I guarantee you that's the only 4ES with that mod! Sounds like you did a clean professional job. I would Personally prefer them to be farther apart too. At this point you could get the JDM rear lip for a cleaner look. Doesn't looked ridiculous now though since you do have the stock tips... May I ask why a 65 yr old would have wanted such a modification done lol.

@ Megafast13. You know, I'm really not sure. I know he really wanted to get an LS430, but didn't because of 1. crappy Nebraska winters and RWD, and 2. He wanted the better gas mileage. The only thing he didn't like about going ES over LS was loosing the duals. I think he just figured "F' It," I'll just add duals.

thats a beautiful ES, i really wanna do that to mine, ive been looking for an es with duals to see what it would look like for awhile, then i came across this and now i want it more than ever.
