How to hook amplifier to head unit ?
Hi guy. I want to hook up an amplifier so that I can get more bass from my es 300. The stock es weeter is pretty good. I am impress. I took out the head unit and I noticed in the back there is NO input/output RCA outlet where the amp wire can connect to.
How do most you guy connect the amp to your stock head unit ?? |
you cant, you have to run it from the stock amp...
|
so where is the stock amp....it is connect with the head unit ??
Thank for the reply |
Oh well, I guess I have to sacrifice my 2 rear 6 * 9 speakers and make it into RCA wire and connect it to my amp.

Stock amp is under the passenger seat, it has a proprietary connection that's going to make hooking up aftermarket components tricky.
|
you don't have to sacrifce your rear speakers in order to do this. You do have to cut the wires, but you can solder new ones on, or you can just twist them on.

What year is your ES300? Mine is a 2000 and the amp is NOT under the seats or in the trunk. I think it's to the right of the glovebox, in the dash.

in the 92-96, the amp is under the passenger seat. in the 97 and up, it is behind the dash...

get a line converter from any audio store. buy some red t-taps from your local hardware store. the converter hooks up to you left or right speaker wires. use the t- taps to gain entrance to the speaker wires. also goig to need blue male connectors
