Default Mystery Part of AC

I tried replacing the Expansion Valve on the AC unit of my ES300 95. While removing the rusted hex bolts It stripped the bolts and the inside of the fittings. Now I can not tighten a new Expansion Valve on. Where can I locate the part it seems to be all one unit connected to the pipe.

Sidenote:This is a picture of another guys expansion valve. How could my bolts have become rusty?
