Got a quote on timing belt replacement
$550 including labor, TB, water pump, shafts, tensioner... the works. This seems low compared to what ive read on other threads, but this mechanic has done great work for me in the past and I trust him.
I was going to drive my '95 es300 until the belt snapped if i was quoted at $1k or more, but at $550, im seriously considering having this done.
188,000 miles. Last timing belt was done at the dealer by the previous owner at 60k miles.
Thoughts?

An AISIN TB kit with
WATER PUMP with GASKET
TIMING BELT
IDLER BEARING
TENSIONER BEARING
is a very good option. Since it's about $150, your mechanic is charging $400 for labor and that's reasonable IMO.
The only items lacking are two cam seals and one crank seal. If I were you I would buy them from a Toyota/Lexus dealer.
