Finally decided to register after finding lots of great information. The time and help that members give other members is awesome. My ES 300 worked great one start and the next began expelling white smoke and was idleing really rough with no power. I entered the key words, searched the forum to see if others had a similar problem (they did) and the symtoms pointed to the ECM. It was the culpret. The instructions to R2 the glovebox and ECM along with the link to the service manual directions were spot on. Car works great now. The help others willingly give others is great. I hope I have the opportunity to help out someone in the future. This is a great site.

 

i think you have a blown head gasket and has nothing to do with ECM.
