My 2002 ES 300 stock look audio setup solution
welp
here is my ES 330 audio solution thread for those wtith stock pioneer radio and no nav and no Mark levinson.
I went ahead and bought an ES 330 GROM brand Ipod /aux in adapter for $79.99
I bought myself a 4 channel Line out converter for the four door speakers for $12 on amazon
I bought a 1 channel line out converter for the subwoofer for $10 from amazon
I bought a four channel amp and a two channel amp with the costs being $79 refurbed for the 4 channel on amazon and $60 for a new two channel amp
I bought a decent quality 8 inch infinite Baffle sub for $40
I will install the grom adapter up front in my glove box. have an Ipod/Aux in
I will get into the trunk and splice into the Pioneer amp outputs and use my Line out converters. 1 per channel. 5 channels total. I will then run the RCA outs from the LOC's to my two amps that will be triggered On by the accessory outlet system and powered directly from the battery with inline fuses. I will then splice back into the speaker wires that I used out of the stock amplifier and use the other half not used that goes to the door speakers and Give each door speaker its own amp channel and bridge the two channel amp into the sub.
This keeps the setup as stock as possible and clean as can be.. I now will have a great sub. Plenty of power for the stock pioneer door speakers and a direct Ipod Input. I can also control all the levels with my LOC's and Amps now for fine tuning.
This will tell me if the weak stock amp limited the door speakers/sub and if the stock pioneer door speakers still suck I will replace them too.
Anyone who gets in the car will never be able to tell it's been touched. it will just sound better and be louder.
I can adjust the X overs as well with the two amps I bought. I will limit the sub to 45 hz lower end and limit the door speakers to a higher x over so I can put more power into them.
The stock 7 speaker pioneer 80 watt system just is not enough. the sub is the first weak point and the amp is the second weak point. the stock pioneer door speakers are OK but not great.
I have the diagram for the wiring of the stock amp and head unit as well.

I will take plenty of pictures of the entire process..
The audio system in this car stock is just bad. 80 watts for 7 speakers? and the speakers have WAY too much emphasis on the components in the doors rather than the kick panel speakers. Also, I think the door speakers are crossed too high and underpowered... and there seems to be some bull**** going on with the signal level for the sub.. I need to be able to attenuate the sub to see if lower or higher levels of the sub will help balance the system out.
MY 2000 Lexus RX300 suv with 7 speakers sounded so so much better. with 220 watts and stock audio setup...
I will identify if the Head unit audio signal is at fault
or if the stock amp being too weak is at fault
of if the door speakers are just sub par no matter what signal and power they get
and if the stock sub is bad quality or needs more power.
These are all questions I want answered and will answer them as I go on.

Which GROM Unit did you buy? They don't list one for a 2002 ES300, do they? I'm looking to find a good AUX input for my ES.
