Emergency Help Needed-95 ES300 Wont Start
I have a 1995 ES300, my wife is out of town visiting family and the car won't start to get her home. I feel helpless from here, but, need ideas of what may be wrong as I'm drawing a blank. When she turns the key there is no clicking, no indication the starter is doing anything. All lights come on (dash, interior) however, doors will not lock or unlock and the trunk will not pop. My brother-in-law says he's checked the fuses under the dash and they are all good. They took the relay to advanced auto, they said it was bad, and sold them a new one. When they got back a friend checked the continuity (because the car still wouldn't start) and believes the old one is still good as he got continuity between 2 of the points. They have tried jiggling the key (thinking this might isolate the starter switch) and tried starting from neutral (thinking this might isolate the neutral start switch). None of this has worked and my wife is starting to freak out thinking about an out of town mechanic bill (which we never have because I usually manage to tinker a solution! But I'm not there). Any ideas would be very much appreciated!!!
Thanks
Steven

Even though the lights are on, the battery may be too weak to crank her over. If you have AAA, have them come out and start her.
The other thing is to ask her to look at the battery terminals, if they are corroded, ask her to pour some 7Up or pretty much any citrus soda and jump it. If this was the culprit it will start.
If the starter solenoid is stuck, ask her to get a broom stick and tap on the starter while trying to start, it should jar it loose.
But again I would look for corroded terminals and then AAA, they can also analyze what is going on with the starting system.

I never did respond to your help...thanks for the reply BTW. It turned out to be the alarm system. Somehow she hard inadvertently armed the Lexus alarm by trying to open the locked door from the inside (or something like that).

1993 lexus es300 wont turn over
I own an 1993 lexus es300 that wont turn over. I was sitting in my car last night listening to music, and all of a sudden everything just shut off on me. When i turn the key, nothing happens. Even the lights on the dashboard wont light up. The only fuse that was blown was the factory alarm fuse, I cannot put a new fuse in it because it keep blowing it. I believe that i have a bad ground that is controlling the alarm.
Can someone help me?
Earlier that day, i installed a new cigarette lighter. I hope that wasnt the cause..
