what is this hose called
I have had all kinds of issues with my 99 es 300 and seems like when I am the one to do the work on it I find things that many mechanics who have looked at it didn't find ( never trust firestone again) I went to replace a few spark plugs and change out a couple coils and found this hose with a huge gash in it and I don't know what the name of it is. I have asked a couple parts dealers and they were not sure what the name of the hose was either. Please help if you know the name of this hose would be a big help. thank you

It is indeed a crankcase ventilation hose. A dealer parts diagram can get you a number, but not necessary.
You can take it to a parts store or measure the ID yourself and go tell them. They can cut you a piece of reinforced hose to match it and you can fit it. You may need different hose clamps as the OK may not be the same as the OE one, and those OE clamps do not have a wide range of flexibility.
If you want the original, look on diagrams for the air intake system, emissions system, etc. It is part of the PCV system, though the actual PCV valve is on the back cylinder bank near the front of the head.
While it is shaped/molded, it is not so specific that a generic replacement hose cannot be used. I like to do my own work for exactly why you mentioned; I can visualize parts, hoses, etc. and show an attention that few mechanics do when someone wants it done fast and cheap. I can find hoses wearing out, wires chafing, etc. and cure problems long before they become problems. So you are on the right road with your habits.

It is indeed part #12262-20020, "HOSE, VENTILATION, NO 2". It is not the PCV hose, the PCV valve is on the rear valve cover, under the intake. This is just a "return" hose for the crankcase ventilation. Looks like it's about $15, but you might do a little better from an on-line Lexus parts discounter. Same hose is used on the V6 Camry, might be a little cheaper from Toyota.
