Default My ES with Zymol

Thought of sharing my ES with Zymol polish that I did over this weekend. Car is pearl white in color and year 2000 model.

I have resized the pictures to load it here.

Thanks for the comment. I used Canon DSLR and 50mm prime lens (no zooming). The reason the first photo was dark may be due to grey SUV parked right next to it. You could see its reflection. Also, lens might have confused (white balancing) over very bright outside and relatively dark inside of garage. I didn't use flash.

I will try to take some more pics when time permits. Before using Zymol, I had been using Zaino since 1999. Eventhough I was happy with Zaino results, their wax/polish/additives tend to expire faster even kept it inside the house. I used to buy in large qty to lower shipping cost.

With Zymol, I am extremely happy with the results. It is always harder to get mirror reflection on white paint but Zymol did better than Zaino in my case. Zaino (protection) lasts longer, I apply 2-3 times a year. I am not sure how long Zymol would last.

Zymol is carnuba based. If the car sees sunlight, rain, weather and elements it will last 2 to 3 months.

Zaino is a polymer polish/sealant. It will last 3 times as long as Zymol. It also won't leave residue like Zymol. I've used Zymol once about 15 years ago and wasn't impressed with it. It also separated in the bottle in less than a year and turned into goo.

I prefer Zaino for it's durability and unbeatable shine. It has a deep wet look that few products can match. The only products I think that compare to Zaino are Adams or Wolfgang waxes/polishes.

Very nice, I'm currently using Griot's Garage products but have considered switching to Zymol from hearing good reviews.

On the pics... Looks like your camera metered for the background instead of the darker area where the car was in the shade, causing it to underexpose the car. Looks like a flash was used on the last pic?

QuachmanES, you are right on spot - I was using center (spot) metering and was trying focus near the back door handle area. But then f stop drops to 2.8 (my 50mm can go to 1.4) limiting the focused (depth) area. I moved the focus towards the edge of the car - the problem is outside bright light and the reflection confused the camera. I did use no flash on all these photos. Will try to take some good ones next time - may be outside. How is Griot's Garage doing for you?.

Eventhough I am pleased with Zymol results (compare to Zaino on a white car), it is hard to apply. I had to do 2x2' session and buff it. It takes time compare to Zaino. Also PolishJoe mentioned about the durability of Zymol being a carnuba based wax. I will have to wait couple of months to check the durability.

I hate to be so biased but the other nice thing about Zaino is that it has UV protection. It's nice to have that especially for cars that are in the sun a lot. The hot sun can kill a cars paint slowly over time.

Griot's Garage products are definitely amazing. Since their "Best of Show" wax is also carnauba based, I usually follow up with a later of synthetic Paint Sealant. That combo looks great and lasts forever! However, it is a bit difficult if you apply by hand; it's much quicker with an orbital.

I would definitely recommend any of their products.
