Rear Brake Backing Plate
I am looking online for a rear brake backing plate and the cheapest price i can find is $197. My question is can i use the backing plate from a camry? If not does anyone know where i can find some for cheaper? I may even think of used ones is someone has some to offer. Mine are rusted and corroded and barely hanging on

http://www.billystoyotaparts.com/directions.cfm I think i may just go used, this place quoted me $80 a piece shipped from alabama to New York. Any input would be great because my inspection is due in 2 weeks and i will fail if i dont replace the backing plate

It would help if you told us what year your car is.

Sorry, 2001 lexus es300
|
sorry, i think the newest i have is a 97.
some parts are interchangeable from camry to es but without actually comparing the two in person, its hard to say. i know all of the camrys i looked at from my year(93) have drum and my es has discs on the rear. |
97-01 should be the same, but i am not sure

If it's a V6 Camry, then they should be the same. I bought Camry brake parts (rotors & pads for all 4 wheels) for my '98 ES, they fit fine. I just used a Camry VIN, the parts were MUCH cheaper that way. Same parts, same part numbers, but MUCH cheaper from a Toyota dealer.

I will look into that, the used ones i got quoted were 80 bucks a piece shipped from alabama to new york. Is that a good price? Hell of a alot better than 235 from the dealer

dont pay that $80 each yet, i will try to get pics tomorrow of the 97 and if they are the same, i can do a lot better on price. email or text me for pics, put es backing plate in the subject. sales@redzonline.com or 225-571-8399
