Upper spring seat (not the strut mount)
 

Purchasing replacement suspension parts tonight... I'm just wondering if the upper spring seat is a common piece that needs replacing? Is it solid metal?

It is solid metal, and unless it is rusted out or bent from an accident, I doubt it needs to be replaced. The bearing that sits between the upper seat and mount (Lexus calls it a suspension support) may need to be replaced, I like to replace them when renewing a suspension.
