Snowmaker -- all transmission fluid is for the most part is synthetic. Believe it or not it originally was Whale Oil based! The use of the word "synthetic" with transmission fluid is misleading.

Fluids meet a minimum specification -- they do this in different ways -- and the specification does not take into account additional additives. And oil analysis do not look at this.

Think about it -- how can you have three different fluids and a universal fluid and have them all be the same?

You don't like T IV -- Fine ....... but that is what the transmission designers designed the box to use and I don't know more about the box then they do - and there are millions of Toyota transmissions all over the word with 200k on them that have never been touched.
