Default Tweeter Installation @ factory location in 96

has anyone had luck with installing tweeters in the factory location? i used the gold brackets, and tried to use hot glue for it, it didn't work too good. the tweeter fell off, as if the glue didn't make any connection with the metal. how has other speaker installers pulled this off? thanks.

scuff the metal and plastic tweeter up with some emery paper, wipe with wax and grease remover, then use either a quick set epoxy or silicone adhesive.

just make sure both contact surfaces are scuffed or textured, then wiped down for proper adhesion. if either one is smooth or has finger grease, they may come apart.

Couldn't fit my polk tweeters in the factory location so I mounted them in the doors. Not the greatest picture but it's all I have right now. The tweeter is right behind the steering wheel.

thanks for that advice for the good contact,

and nice shallow mounts. 2ES has a hallow void where original stock speakers are: TG. your generation probably was a tight fit, none the less, awesome job
