Question about Front Seat Removal

1999 ES300 -- Are there any hidden wire harnesses to watch out for when removing the front seats or are they all accessible before unbolting?

FYI: Only power seats. No heated seats ;(

In case anyone else is interested-- I should have just looked under the seats before posting this question lol there's four bolts to each front seat and the wire harness connectors are right in plain view. On a side note the two rear bolts on both seats are 'hidden' beneath snap-on plastic covers.

Peace,
Ryan

Not Sure if your car has side airbags, but if it does, than those are located in the sides of the seats, and if that's the case, than you definitely have to be careful.

Disconnect the battery first.

GOOD CALL! Whewwww :egads: I almost attempted to do this without taking that into consideration and I do have side airbags. Good looking out bud.

Question: Disconnect the negative first? Reconnect the negative last? Correct?

Yes. Negative off first. Than negative on last.

Just curious, why are you removing the front seat?

Place your wagers!

hahahaha alright start taking bets whoever guesses it right first--winner takes all. ;)

I want to take out the seats to make my carpet/upholstery cleaning job easier. I have 2 friggin identical twin coffee spill stains inbetween the arm rest and both front seats that are irk'ing the hell outta me  so I figure the carpet will be easier to clean and will dry quicker with the 2 seats removed.

Taking the seats out is simple. Just 4 bolts! Undo the bolts first then you can lay the seat back and get to the harnesses easily, no need to undo harnesses then un-bolt.

Good idea I just didn't see a lot of slack on those wires however they do have to be long enough to allow the seat to slide forward and backwards.
