Question 99 ES300 - Front Wheel Bearings / Hub Assembly

----------
Title Edit:

Front Passenger Side Noise, Vibration, Excessive shaking while braking

Hi everyone-- First post here and I wish I found this place sooner.

I have a 99 ES300 that just turned 68K miles--When I get up to about 40+ mph the front right wheel feels like it's shaking left-and-right and it also cause the steering wheel to slightly shake left and right. There is also a rattling noise whenever I hit a bump or dip, I don't know if this sound is related...

Thanks,
Ryan

After doing some more research I came across this Technical Service Bulletin (aka TSB):

TSB SU002-99 DEC 99 Front Suspension Support - Noise

FYI, the search feature on clublexus.com yields great results... maybe the noise isn't the bearings after all... time to get dirty lol

You might want to have the wheels checked to make sure they are balanced, usually this causes the issues described above speeds of 50 - 55 mph. Good luck bro.

Yes, the rubber mounts... I think it's mainly a noise issue.

I was thinking that too... the car seems to shake a little more on the front-passenger side while braking but does not shake additionally while turning left or right... and from what I am reading does not sound like it could be the CV joints but maybe a warped rotor... on top of the noise from the strut mounts. (bad rubber strut mount = that "golf ball" clunking sound was going on before the shaking started??)

I definitely have my work cut out for me... grimey. lol

Alright folks I'm going to start a new thread and reference it to this post since my initial diagnosis/post is ****. I would also like to share my experience in case others run into a similar situation. I'm a firm believer in "knowledge is power" and the internet is definitely a great place to soak up information however too little knowledge can also be dangerous and a waste of time/money...
