Newb questions
 

Hey people,

I'm happy to report I avoided a lot of hassle on the way to getting my 1999 ES300 by reading these forums. Everything is pretty well covered.

My straightforward valve adjustment question did elude the search function though. This car was only recently serviced for t-belt, water pump and serp belts. There is no ticking I can hear, and it served 84K miles of light duty with an elderly woman. Assuming it eventually does need valve service, how and how much?

I'm an advanced DIY guy, having done shim under bucket on many bikes and plenty of head up teardowns over the years. But now I'm not so tool focused and can afford service, hence the Lexus purchase.

It's a very clean and unabused car, but driven. There are no leaks and the fluids are clean. New brakes are installed, but suspension is pretty much toast and I'm reading up on the options here.

Assuming it has not had a valve adjustment, how much should I worry about it right now that I'm getting the car dialed in for long term service? Thanks.
