Question Air Bag Light Blinking

So I'm leaving the gym last night and all of a sudden my airbag light comes on. Well it blinks. I don't know any better so I pull over and call my dad...clueless! I don't have anyone else to call about cars except someone who currently isn't taking my phone calls. I take a chance and drive it home-read my Ebay purchased Owners Manual and figure it has something to do with the seat belts. I'm a clueless girl when it comes to cars so I need some help from the wonderful people of CL. The book says I have to take it to the "stealership"!!! Is that true? WTH is going on?? Help!

I'm still having this problem PLEASE HELP! I took it to the dealership and first they said it was my center airbag...then they told me it was the Sensor Assembly. It's JUST FLASHING! and this ONLY happened after leaving the gym stepping really hard on my breaks to let some JERK pass who flew out infront of me. What are the chances of me stepping hard on my breaks and at the SAME time my Sensor going bad. Geesh! The dealership was no help. I put in a new Sensor Assembly like they said and still FLASHING. What do you pay a diagnostic for if they can't tell you the exact problem. I plan to write a letter to the President and ask for a refund! I still need help. Has anyone had this happened. My car is due for inspection and it's going to fail with this darn light flashing! Nobody can tell me whats going on!

I had this happen to me on my Saab 9-3 a few years back. I ended up replacing the seatbelt "clicker thing" down on the right side. That fixed the problem for me, but I'm not sure if thats your problem or not.

Thanks Limen! It says in the manual something about seatbelts. My airbag light turned off yesterday for a while but I had to go to work and when I tried to drop it off while it was off they said they were booked for the day. Then when I left work at 9 last night it was back to blinking. WTH! I'm leaving my (-) cable off my battery for a few hours and see if that helps. I will take a look at my seatbelts.

Tatiana, pull the codes for the SRS (air bag) it will tell you why the light is on....my understanding is that as long as the light is flashing the air bag will not deploy....download the Factory
Service manual for your car and it will tell you how to reset the SRS light, I have a 93 ES and the liight only blinks if there is an error, the other times it just wont turn off after 6 secs or so...... sounds like maybe the hard brake was sensed by the front sensor and the system just needs to be reset.... again read what the manual has to say (not the owners manual)....good luck
