Unlock Mechanically vs. Electronically
I have a 2000 ES300. The lock/alarm buttons are in the key itself. If the battery in the key dies will I run into trouble unlocking the car with the key vs. the button on the key? Will I set off the alarm by using the key to enter the car vs. unlocking it electronically?

Of course not. That's what the keyhole is there for. Why would the alarm go on if you're using your own key? That would be a weird design. :p

Sorry for the stupid question...thanks though

Unfortunately I had that particular problem, when the battery died the key didn't disable the alarm so it went on. I replaced the battery now the key won't lock and unlock the doors electronically, but I can open my trunk...
I think I need to reset my car alarm, but haven't been able to determine how to do it. The key when unlock is pressed (and the door is unlocked) tries to do something I can hear clicking. The same when hitting lock (and the door is locked). Any ideas? 2000 ES 300 |
