Front end clunk style noise...

I've got a 05' with 57K. Just recently it has started making a "clunk or a pop style" noise from the passenger front end area when I shift into Reverse or Drive every morning from a cold start. It does not do it after driving usually and I can not make the noise happen on the road. Sometimes when backing up in Reverse and turning wheel the clunk happens as well, but like I said I have not heard it on the road driving yet. I've had numerous issues repaired already from the dealer including a brand new steering rack, vane pump and upper pressure hose for a strange start up noise they still can't resolve. I've already had the intermediate shaft replaced and the steering and driving of the vehilce feel absolutely perfect. Also, just had the alignment checked. Still in spec since last alignment in Oct 2008. Thanks!

Sounds like the ABS pump performing its self check on startup. If so, It is perfectly normal. Usually will only do it on the first start-up of the day.

Yea I think I've noticed that ABS "click" before, but this is new, and it's a serious clunk, oddly enuff it's seems much louder inside vehicle than outside it....it sounds like suspension parts shifting???.......thx for reply tho!

I would jack up the right side, and shake down the suspension components to check for looseness.

Clunk going from reverse to drive - 06' IS-350

I have the same clunk noise when going from reverse to drive for 06' - IS-350. Wondering if there is loose suspension parts need to be tightened or is there part needs to be replaced on drive shaft or u-joint?

You'll probably have better luck in the IS section but it's probably between two things. Either U-joints or motor/trans mounts.

Motor mounts or strut mounts.

I'm getting a clunking noise when pressing my brakes at low speed and going over bumps, from the front right side of my car. Stabilizer link checked out okay from underneath....will need more investigating, but its getting worse everyday.
