Engine screeching noise when start up.
 

I own a 1996 ES300 with 244,xxx miles on it. Today when I turned it on it made a really loud screeching noise. I don't know what is the problem, can you guys figure it out for me. Thanks in advance.

Belts maybe?

I would probably say it's your belts, sounds like they have worn out and are slipping. I had this very same issue, but with a Nissan Sentra, belt was worn down and when I installed a new belt, no screaching.

For mines, the problem was the starter

The problem is usually belts.
