Default 98 ES300 Headunit Question

I searched but haven't got clear answers yet. since my stock headunit blacked out, it's time for a new/aftermarket headunit. and found few that i liked and figured/found dash kits but not sure on harness. no i would like to use the stock amp and speakers, which harness do i need to get for me to keep these stock amp/speakers? and is there anything that i should know about before the installation? any tricks? any wires that needs special modification??

Not sure of the harness you will need for your year ES, check with Crutchfield.
I would throw out the factory amp and just power the speakers from your headunit it'll be louder and sound better (atleast on a 94 it did, probably the same for yours).
Years ago when I left the factory amp in I got that stupid noise when you accelerate it got louder, dumped the amp and it went away.
Good luck.

I have the same question, I see alot of new head units that have built in GPS, and I am wondering if they fit in my 98 es. I see alot of them say Double Din, I am not sure if the 98 ES has double din.

you can buy any single and/or double din. you can easily buy single and/or double din dash kit from ebay, amazon, or crutchfield. and it will fit our model es300s with no problem

Is their an easy way to run the stock sub with the aftermarket deck and amp or do u have to use the stock amp? been wondering that...
I see most say they are 4 channel. Double din is the stock size but I'm going single due to cost.

the harness for most lexus es300's at least for mine come with av jacks (good because u can run it off ur old amp u just connect to the amp outs on the aftermarket head unit) (bad in my case cause i have a 10' cerwin vega sub that i cant run off the back of the head unit. so i stuck with just using a line converter on the back speakers still sounds good. i might later on get a splitter and run my cables up to the radio. as of now I am not.) if this answered ur question u can run ur same stock amp. the harness is made for it.
